This was the penultimate episode and there would have been a riot if the wedding had not taken place! They finally got married but even that did not happen smoothly.
It was a case study of all the things that can go wrong in a wedding from a bad hair day to the limousine being towed. It was something many fans could relate to although it looked like they made a list of all the possible things that could go wrong in a wedding day and then tried to see how much of it they could squeeze through.
Victoria was a rock of Gibraltar for her sister (her car also broke down). She made sure that come rain or high water she got the bride to the altar. Mike on his part had the slight problem of keeping Carl away from Christina. He was dead set on proposing to her but the last time he tried to even express his love for her things did not really go as imagined. Mike imagined the worst if he should go on ahead and ask her to marry her but Carl would have none of it and the minute he had a chance backstage he proposed to her. There story line was so engaging that it could be used for a whole episode in itself. It turns out that she is interested in him but marriage is not what is on her cards right now.
Did we mention that this was the season’s finale? It makes sense that there wedding should be although it meant that they took center stage. After Vince’s mistake last week, both he and Joyce still had some screen time in this episode. What he did last week was only slightly referred to but it is definitely too big to just overlook come next season.
What about Peggy and Jack’s romance? It was rekindled but Peggy was only setting him up to pay him back in his own coin and it like it was not funny to him!
Season two ended with Mike and Molly getting married. Season three will begin with them as married couples for the first time and it does look like writers would have a lot of material to work on.
